Plans change. Keep your people within reach

"I'll be home by 8," you said. At 8:05, the conversation gets good. At 8:40, you were splitting the bill, checking which lift app had a driver nearby, and replying "leaving now, promise" to the group chat.

Plans change. That's half of what makes an evening worth having.

We all know that friend

"Text me when you get home." "I will." "You better."

Every friend group has the one who runs the check-ins, and thank goodness for her. Looking out for each other is second nature to a lot of us. A check-in does rely on 2 things going right, though: someone remembering to send it, and someone else noticing if it doesn't arrive.

How Deliva helps

Deliva is a free Android app, built in South Africa by South Africans, with a panic button that does the texting for you. Add your trusted emergency contacts once (your dad, your brother, the friend who always picks up, etc.). Tap the button, and they all get an alert at the same time by WhatsApp, SMS, and email, with a link to your live location that keeps updating as you move.

When you're safe, cancel the alert and the live tracking will stop. Nobody's watching your dot on a map while you're at the shops on a Saturday.

Setting it up takes a few minutes

  • Install Deliva from the Google Play Store
  • Add 2 or 3 trusted contacts
  • Tell them what a Deliva alert looks like, so nobody mistakes it for spam or a wrong number
  • Have a look at the emergency services map, so you know what's nearby

Deliva guides you to the closest professionals

The app's emergency directory shows the police stations, hospitals, and fire services near you, which is handy to know about if you ever need it.

Plans change. Stay connected. Download Deliva free on Google Play and keep your people within reach, wherever the evening takes you.

FAQ

Is there a free panic button app in South Africa?

Yes. Deliva's panic button is free on Android. It alerts the contacts you choose and will share your live location until you cancel the alert.

Does Deliva send police or an armed response?

Not yet. We are working on it. For now, Deliva alerts your trusted contacts and shows your nearest police, medical, and fire services. In a life-threatening emergency, call 10111 for police or 112 from a cellphone.

Who can see my location on Deliva?

Only the trusted contacts you listed, and only while a panic alert is active. Cancelling the alert also instantly cancels the live location tracking.
